Monthly Archives: November 2011
Because of the prospect of moving to a new flat in a few weeks (and because I wanted to find ear plugs and an eye mask, like they give you on planes) I decided to go through one of my trunks and clear out a load of junk I’ve been hoarding for years. It had been ages since I last went into the trunk for something other than to just add something sundry to the massive collection that I’d forgotten what I had stashed away. Among the bits and pieces I found some old electronics that really got me feeling all nostalgic.
Note: Unlike the previous themeing tip, this one only applies to 10.6 and previous. As of 10.7 Lion, the login screen is vastly different.
If you have Automatic Login disabled on OS X, every time you boot up you’re greeted with the nice Aurora background and a login window. You’ll see the same screen if you have multiple accounts on the computer too, whenever you switch between them. Sure, the aurora is nice enough looking in itself, but if you want to add that personal flair to your Mac, you can change it to anything you like.
So thanks to exams, but mostly thanks to a certain young lass, I’m going to try and get back into blogging again and actually finish what I attempted to do with giving a full guide on themeing. In the meantime, however, I shall keep you entertained each week with a (hopefully) witty review of some software available for OS X.
The first review will follow shortly after this (if all goes well) and is on a lovely little piece of software, Socialite.
